Wow, I just tried out my very own homemade felted boots in snow, for the first time. Now I understand why the Russians love their Valenka boots. We were out sledding in ankle deep fluffy powder; trudging up, flying down. It was about 25 degrees. My feet were so warm and cozy even though I wore no socks. When we came back in the boots were totally caked with snow, but inside, my feet were warm and dry. I'm not saying this because I make these amazing boots, but they are the best boots for snow by far, that I've ever experienced.
